Stairway to the Freedom Loft

This beautiful lodge pole stairway leads to The Common's Freedom Loft which celebrates the freedom that we hold dear through the efforts of those who served our country in times of need. Take a trip to yesterday as you study the faces of those who served in WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, conflict in Bosnia, and more currently Afghanistan and Iraq.

Lodge Pole Stairway to "Freedom"
was built by local craftsmen. It has become one of the favorite focal points of The Common.

The Freedom Loft is carefully stenciled in the words of Walt Whitman:

"One Song, America, before I go,

I'd sing o'er all the rest, with trumpet sound,

For thee - the Future."
